‘New No Age, listen now!’
28 September is going to be a big day for art-rock: first Deerhunter announced they are releasing their new LP Halcyon Digest on that day, now noisy LA duo No Age follow suit with a simultaneous release of their third record Everything in Between on Sub Pop. I’m not claiming they’ve coordinated this thing but it’s starting to feel like an indie version of that Kanye/Fifty Cent face-off from a few years back…
Anyway the first new music from No Age has emerged. They’re putting out 12″ and 7″ singles on 24 August, both led by the song “Glitter” from the album, but with different non-album b-sides.
“Glitter” and the additional track from the 7″, “Infloresence”, can be heard already. “New No Age, listen now!” was how the tracks were billed on Sub Pop’s site and I can’t really argue with that. They’re streaming below (you can also download “Glitter”).
There doesn’t seem to be any huge departure from previous efforts by the band but there’s still some good sounds to be heard. Roll on 28 September.
