Tried and tested: HydraFacial Treatment

HydraFacial Treatment Final 300x224 Tried and tested: HydraFacial TreatmentAlmost every part of the body can be covered up and hidden from the cold in the winter, but wear a balaclava and you’ll end up looking like a burglar. So it’s understandable that left unprotected from the harsh weather, the face needs that extra bit of care.

The HydraFacial is a new treatment offered by celebrity cosmetic surgeon Alex Karidis, and aims to leave beautifully replenished skin, free from imperfections.

Try not to be deterred by the medical form and use of Hyaluronic Acid, (not Hydrochloric Acid, as I misheard and nearly fainted at the sound of) this occurs naturally in the skin and the treatment is certainly less abrasive than Microdermabrasion, or its aggressive uncle, the Chemical Peel.

It works by exfoliating and vacuuming any impurities in the skin with antioxidant serums to cleanse and moisturise.

My skin felt much smoother and completely hydrated after the treatment, making foundation glide on the following day, and leaving my face blemish-free for a week – a perfect remedy for tired-looking skin when it’s a bit nippy outside.

Treatment available at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth, NW8 9NH, £120, www.nipntuck.co.uk 0207 432 8727
