Qs to Which the A is 0 Bumper Edition

Apple 1822539c 300x187 Qs to Which the A is 0 Bumper EditionI’ve lost count because Francis Fukuyama’s 1989 entry may mean I have to go back and renumber them all. But a few more Questions to Which the Answer is No while the committee meets in emergency session:

Number 526, asked by Jon Craig at Sky:

Remember Tony Blair’s headlong dash to invade Iraq in 2003 without a second United Nations resolution?

Those of us who were there remember the long build-up to military action from the previous spring, and the long diplomatic negotiations, first to secure a “final opportunity” resolution at the UN, and then the unsuccessful attempt to secure a so-called “second” resolution explicitly re-authorising the use of force. No dash. Nothing headlong. Merely a sustained determination to confront a threat with which many people, especially in retrospect, disagree.

Number 525, asked by Labour Uncut on behalf of the Telegraph:

Did Gordon Brown snub Steve Jobs?

Number 524, asked by Mark Ferguson at Labour List:

Is Labour winning the battle for News International’s affection?

Really. I don’t see the words DR DAVID KELLY mentioned anywhere in John’s post, nor at any implicit reference to those events. I think the best response to you is to simply quote stuff you’d said on this thread. You have the delightful quality of being absurdly inconsistent.

You say “Mr Barry you don’t need to read my comments, in fact I wish you wouldn’t, it makes me feel dirty and I now need to have a shower”. I would say as you said below:

“I realise that your situation means that you can’t interact on a normal level but you really don’t have to be so abusive, unpleasant and hysterical. Again I realise it is your condition but I don’t care.”

Then again, this is all from the man who said:
“And the last time I reported a crime to my local police station, special branch covered it up. I provided them with proof that an MoD scientist was attempting to sell highly classified military secrets to a foriegn power.”

Which bit don’t you get? The first two comments are aimed at people that I have permitted to deliver abuse and ridicule without previous response; the third is perfectly true

I think Mr Barry is VERY interested in Dr David Kelly, but perhaps from another angle, one not concerned with finding out the truth, rather burying it.

Jim, can you tell me which of the Hutton Inquiry witnesses is telling the truth and why you think so? Because nothing makes sense, the default option (and because at least one person has been proven to have lied and that is only the tip of the iceberg) is that nobody is telling the truth until they all come before a Coroner’s Inquest under oath. What have they all got to be worried about? It’s not distasteful it is just a mirror of society at large. Like when something goes wrong at your widget factory and everybody goes into denial mode. That’s a small scale cover up. It’s very very bad news when one of the drafters of the Iraq Invasion Dossier goes awol then turns up in a suicided state so it requires a huge cover up.

I think I now understand your position (I won’t call it logic). You refuse to believe any evidence that contradicts your belief, while giving credence to anyone putting forward any old crackpot conspiracy theory (because there must have been a cover up, and the government must have been guilty of any number of nefarious crimes that we don’t know about because they have been covered up). With that mind-set you are of course impervious to reasoned argument, but I do wonder whether you would be willing to confront Mrs Pape in person and call her a bare-faced liar.

Anyone who bandies about silly phrases like “conspiracy theory” is a fool.
