iBet: England the invincibles
Back England to go through the campaign unbeaten, Euro 2012 Qualification
4-6 with Bet 365
Not much to go at Monday night and a good time to look for some long term value. England were mighty impressive in winning us a few quid on Saturday and the price of 4-6 available with Bet365 for them to go the whole campaign unbeaten looks excellent value to me. Almost by default, after a dire World Cup campaign Fabio Capello appears to have found a stand-out striker in Darren Bent and a balanced midfield. Whatever you think about his personal life, John Terry is the best leader in the squad. Wayne Rooney is starting to look world class again and Ashley Young is starting to show what he can do. Plus there’s Stephen Gerrard to come back and Andy Carroll waiting in the wings. The only team that looks debatably in the same stratosphere as England in Group G is Montenegro. They were extremely lucky to get a draw at Wembley and I can’t see them actually beating England at home.
Tonight sees League One’s most out of form side, Oldham, entertain Tranmere. Oldham have won only one of their last 14 games and have lost the last six. In the last ten games they have scored only twice. Tranmere have won only three of their last ten but they have scored 11 times in that run. If you forced me to have a bet, I would lay Oldham with Betfair at 5/4 as the price looks wrong for a team that can’t win.
