Caught & Social: I could Scream – it’s my ex
We’ve all been there. You’ve recently separated from your film star partner amid allegations of infidelity and several embarrassing things said in interviews since. That’s not to mention the spell in rehab. Then you wake up one day and remember that you and your estranged spouse have to walk the same red carpet for a movie you made several months ago. That was the fate of Courtney Cox and David Arquette who posed for cameras at the premiere of Scre4m. That’s the fourth instalment of the Scream franchise, for those of you who like your words without numbers in them.
Disney actress and emailer of naked selfportraits, Vanessa Hudgens, has determined the cause of the showbiz world’s ills. “I know what the worst invention ever is: the internet,”she says. “It’s ruining everyone and it just makes everybody way too accessible. It just takes away the glamour and mystery from our business.”Perhaps proving things weren’t so rosy back in the day, Oscarwinning actress Shirley MacLaine has told Oprah Winfrey: “I’ve had an awful lot of lovers and a lot of awful lovers. I wasn’t into Sexcapades, though I did try it once. Had three people in one day.”How did she find the time? Fellow veteran Dolly Parton (pictured) has hailed the new generation – Lady Gaga in particular. “I love her. Maybe we should do something together – GooGoo and Gaga!”That’s one double act we want to see.
Jarvis Cocker warmed his music muscles ahead of this summer’s Pulp reunion tour with a DJ set at the Mother of Pearl pop-up shop launch in New Bond Street. “I’m not talking about the the shows beforehand because I think it will be better that way,” he said. “There will be no set lists beforehand. I don’t even think we will be getting those.” C&S, meanwhile, warmed up for the i party tonight with some Snow Queen cocktails at the Maddox Bar. See our coverage of it tomorrow.

Jessie J might possess an unshockable air, but she let it all drop when describing a recent gig at Trinity College in Dublin. “Probably one of the hardest gigs to date,”she writes. “To see so many people so drunk they couldn’t even stand. Girls unconscious and students were literally trampling on each other. It wasn’t easy… I was just shocked at how intoxicated they were. Binge drinking is dangerous.” Drinking? At university? It wouldn’t happen over here. While many eligible aristogirls sigh enviously at the thought of Prince William marrying Kate Middleton, Emma Watson has nothing but sympathy. “Poor girl, that must be an incredible amount of pressure,”she said. “Must be intense.” Maybe she’s just jealous. Taking a Coldplay fan on a date this weekend? Don’t expect to be invited in for a coffee and a Fix You session. According to a new poll by tastebuds.fm, fans of Chris Martin and co are the least likely music fans to have sex on a first date. The easiest fans? Nirvana, apparently.
John Travolta held a press conference today to announce his role in in Gotti: Three Generations a biopic of the infamous New York mob boss John Gotti. “This is probably the most interesting untold story in this country, and what a character to approach and understand,” Travolta said. Joining John will be Nick Cassavetes as director, while gangster go-to guy Joe Pesci has also signed up. Lindsay Lohan is is in talks to play the gangster’s daughter, but she will presumably have to sort out her own crime issues (a court case for stealing a necklace looms) before she gets to sign on the dotted line.
“Porridge is humble. If I don’t have that every day, I feel like I’m getting pretentious” Gordon Ramsay starts the day in humble fashion. Who knows what goes wrong later
