To Wimbledon, where actress Kirsten Dunst was enjoying her first return to the grounds since filming the 2004 movie Wimbledon. Also coming back for the first time since the film, we discovered, was birthday boy Example (who is currently at the top of the singles chart), but the rapper’s role was slightly less prominent than Dunst’s. “I had just left university and I got two weeks working here as an extra on the film,”he said. Over on Centre Court, comic Michael McIntyre was shouting encouragement in Spanish to tight-pantwearer Rafael Nadal during his first-round match and talking to male model David Gandy. On the other side of the stadium, three “sirs”, Terry Wogan, Jackie Stewart and Clive Woodward, were spotted in the comfortable surrounds of the royal box. Also cheering on Nadal was the musician and hat fan Grace Jones. “I am playing hookey from recording my album,”she told us. After Nadal’s victory, while the rest of the stars went to the Evian VIP suite at the grounds, Jones was invited to the players’ area to congratulate him. “[His family] told me that I am a lucky charm,” she said. “Whenever I watch him, he wins.”So now you know why he’s number one…

The rapper 50 Cent is to write a novel. Playground will tell a semi-autobiographical tale of a 13-year-old former bully, changing his life. “This book would have been very helpful for me growing up and, now that I have a teenage son, it is my goal that this will have a positive influence on all teenagers,”said 50 (or should that be Cent?).

In other music news, Lady Gaga has struck up a “strong friendship” with philosopher, critic and theorist, Slavoj Zizek. According to the New York Post, the pair bonded during her recent tour and like to discuss “feminism and collective human creativity”, while Zizek has praised his “good friend”Gaga and her famous meat dress in a recent blog post.
