Caught & Social: Rod is the new Face in Vegas

Untitled 180 218x300 Caught & Social: Rod is the new Face in VegasRod Stewart launched his two-year Las Vegas residency in the best way he knew how: with a bunch of models in bikinis holding footballs. Wearing a tracksuit of his beloved Celtic, Stewart kicked a ball around in front of some bemused executives, before playing his opening night in Caesars Palace. He also told USA Today some of the secrets to his longevity. He said: “I keep fit, and after anything I do, like cycling, swimming, football, I hop in a bath of ice water up to about my privates. Works wonders, it does.”It certainly looks that way.

Scene & heard

“Zany”actor Jim Carrey has confessed his love for actress Emma Stone in an unusual video message. “I just wanted to let you know that I think you’re all the way beautiful,”he says, his face full of seriousness. “Not just pretty, but, you know, smart and kind-hearted. And if I were a lot younger, I would marry you, and we would have chubby little freckledfaced kids. We’d laugh all day long and go camping and play Yahtzee and tell ghost stories by the fire. And the sex…”Why would Emma be anything less than delighted?

Untitled 1342 208x300 Caught & Social: Rod is the new Face in VegasElsewhere, a Damien Hirst design adorns the cover of the first issue of Garage, the magazine owned by Dasha Zhukova, the artloving partner of Roman Abramovich. So far, so unsurprising. But what is a little unusual is the canvas Hirst has used for his butterfly design: a female vagina. What’s more, it’s tattooed on. If you would like to see for yourself, the magazine is available to buy – except, in WH Smith, apparently, where an alternative cover will be on offer.

Keep your eyes on the road, Boris

Seemingly naked without his bicycle, Boris Johnson launched yet another cycle-related initiative yesterday – The Sky Ride. Having invited the actress and model Kelly Brook for a spin outside his office, our capital’s thrusting mayor struggled to keep his eyes on the road. Miss Brook, meanwhile, showed she was such an accomplished cyclist that she was able to whizz around wearing a pair of vertiginously high heels. Afterwards, Boris preached to the non-pedallers : “I urge people to dust off their saddles.”And who could resist one of his urges?

Petra’s Roman party

Petra Ecclestone arrived at Rome’s Ciampino airport yesterday. The daughter of Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone is in town for her wedding. Never one to shy away from extravagance, Petra is having her nuptials to James Stunt in the Odescalchi Castle (used previously by a certain Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes), with a final bill believed to be north of £1m. Sounds like quite a party.

We know what you’re thinking. All this page is missing is a picture of a member of the House of Lords wearing Lycra. Well, dear readers, here you go. Lord Sugar, the Labour Peer and host of The Apprentice posted this picture online during a seven hour, 110mile cycle from San Remo to San Tropez in the south of France. It sounded like things got more glamorous when he got back to his yacht. “Getting on tender to get back on boat,”he wrote. “Kate Moss with family also getting on Sir Philip Green’s boat. Nice little chat she seems a nice lady.”Over to you Kate.

Britain’s famous Rocker, Rod Stewart will always be welcome in Las Vegas.  HERE in Las Vegas Nevada USA, WE as a city have always been re-inventing ourselves to be a bigger & better place.  Currently WE have the highest unemployment rate in the nation as quoted by the Las Vegas Review-Journal at 15% but as a Casino Manager, I believe that this city will turn itself around.  I am no Rocker but a lover of Rap Music but I want Rod Stewart to be HERE because HE gives international recognition as a Rock singer by helping bring business to Las Vegas because it would help the economic livelihood of the Casino’s which this city depends.
