iBet: Fulham’s record in London derbies is atrocious

Fulham v Tottenham Hotspur, Premier League, kick off Sunday, 4pm

Lay Fulham at 2.7 to one with Betfair

There was a time when Fulham’s home ground was something of a fortress. But that’s no longer the case and indeed they have only won one of five Premier League games at Craven Cottage this season. Martin Jol’s side eased their relegation worries a little by beating Wigan 2-0 on Saturday but they face an altogether different test against an in-form and rested Tottenham side and I’m prepared to bet that they won’t win. The statistics are on our side too, as Fulham have only won one of their last 10 league meetings with their North London rivals and have a terrible record in London derbies, with only a single victory in their last 22 efforts. Plus Spurs are in great form. Since defeat at the hands of the two Manchester giants in their first two games they have gone undefeated in 90 minutes in 11 consecutive games. Indeed their loss at Old Trafford was their only defeat in five away days in the Premier League this season. Spurs looked fantastic against QPR on Sunday and I am especially keen on this bet because while Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp was able to rest his key players in the Europa Cup on Thursday, Fulham manager Martin Jol played a strong side; and that’s bound to take its toll. For me a lay of Fulham at 2.7 to one is the stand out value bet of the weekend.
