Caught & Social: A sedate night with Gary Barlow
His brother Prince Harry hangs out with drum and bass DJs, but Prince William and his wife Kate showed that their tastes were slightly more sedate as they headed to a Gary Barlow gig last night. They weren’t at the Royal Albert Hall just out of love of the Take That singer’s music, however, the concert was also in aid of charities close to the royals’ hearts. Barlow is holding the shows to raise money for both the Prince’s Trust and the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry.
Sticky time for Nigella
Nigella Lawson showed how far she was willing to go in the name of her craft as she was covered in salted caramel for a photoshoot. The appearance came as the TV cook and food writer guestedited this week’s Stylist. “It was hot and sticky,” she told C&S. “The advantage was that I had my eyes shut so I could remove myself from the proceedings.”
Two of our nation’s finest minds came together yesterday in London. Boris Johnson was joined by the thinker’s pop star Peter Andre for the launch of a new initiative to get people using local libraries. For the photo opportunity, Andre chose: Strange Histories: The Greeks (he is of Greek heritage), while the London Mayor plumped for The Prophecy by Chris Kuzneski.
