Caught & Social: Get cape, wear cape, open sale
Florence Welch cut a typically flamboyant figure when she arrived to perform at the opening of the Harrods winter sale yesterday, clad in a black and silver cape. However, despite having established herself as one of the most eye-catching stars in pop, the singer insists she still has reservations about her image. “I don’t think I’ll ever be polished, I’m just integrally slightly scruffy,” she claims. “You know you meet those women who are so cool? I’m striving for that so much and I’m always too flustered.”
It’s been 7 hours and 15 days
They were a picture of newlywed bliss just this month, but yesterday Sinead O’Connor said her fourth marriage was over after 16 days. The Irish singer, 45, met therapist Barry Herridge online and married him on
8 December. In a statement on her website last night, she blamed “certain people in his life” for trying to turn him against her. “These were people who had never met me but had formed opinions of me based on what they read about ‘Sinead O’Connor’ in the media,”she wrote. “He is a wonderful man. I love him very much. I’m sorry I’m not a more regular woman.”
Will Damian inherit his mother’s talent?
Elizabeth Hurley’s son Damian, nine, already wants a career in showbusiness, it seems. The actress and model, who is in Australia with her fiancé Shane Warne, announced on Twitter: “Oh lord, my son is begging me to find him an agent so he can become a child actor.”
No pain, no gain for Jessie
Having seen her career well and truly take off in 2011, award-winning singer Jessie J is now warning fans to expect a less upbeat offering when it comes to her second album. “There’ll be a lot more pain in the lyrics,” announces Jessie, who returns to the recording studio in the New Year. She adds: “Not every song needs a happy ending.”
