Caught & Social: Kelly the mane event at festival

Kelly Brook has reportedly been busy networking with industry chiefs at the Capri Hollywood International Film Festival in a bid to advance her acting career, but it seems it’s her sudden change of hair colour that’s proved the main talking point. The actress and model, who is on the Italian island with boyfriend and former Scotland rugby international Thom Evans, has swapped her trademark brunette locks for a new blonde look. Kelly’s next big screen outing is in Keith Lemon: The Movie.

Frankie wins by a hair

Axed X Factor hopeful Frankie Cocozza has finally topped one chart in 2011 – albeit for the worst celebrity hair. Strictly Come Dancing champion, McFly drummer Harry Judd, won the best hairstyle prize inf the Bryl creem poll, while Prince Harry was awarded the runner-up spot.

As fans eagerly await his return in the second series of Sherlock on New Year’s Day, Benedict Cumberbatch has taken a swipe at rival actors obsessed with physically transforming themselves for different roles. He tells the Radio Times: “As an actor, you can do weight loss, weight gain, put on silly noses, crazy accents, move like a dragon, inviting people to look at the fireworks and admire how different you’re being. But with acting like that, it’s all about look-at-me, when what you should be doing is helping the audience care about the person they’re watching.”

Daniel Radcliffe reveals that critics who claim he will never escape the shadow of Harry Potter fuel his desire to succeed. “I’m very motivated by the doubt of others,” he tells Empire. Radcliffe, whose next film, The Woman In Black, is released in February, adds: “Whenever I hear people talk about the Potter kids as if we’re not going to be able to make it out of the series, that really lights a fire under me.”

Anna puts her daughter first

Anna Friel insists she hasn’t given up on her Hollywood dream. The actress, back in the UK after a stint in America, says her career is now determined by the needs of her six-year-old daughter Gracie, whose father is Friel’s ex-partner, actor David Thewlis. “It’s not cut and dried,” she says. “I have a house in Los Angeles, a house here and a house in Spain. Gracie, her school and having come out of a 10-year relationship dictates things.”
