Will Borgen be back?
You cannot go far in Parliament these days without someone confiding that they are watching Borgen - the Danish political drama – and loving it.
When each pair of episodes air on Saturday nights, Labour MPs in particular take to Twitter to gush about it. Tories and Lib Dems, who admit to watching it, maybe think this gripping tale of sex, sleaze and spin in coalitions is a little too close to home. (Jane Merrick and I charted some of the similarities a couple of weeks ago.)
The last two episodes air on BBC Four this weekend, threatening politicos with severe withdrawal symptoms.
With that in mind I asked the Beeb when series two, which was shown in Denmark last autumn, is due on screens here. A spokesman says:
“We’ve had no indication on a date for the second series yet.”
Gulp.
So make the most of it while it lasts – and if you haven’t caught up yet, the whole series is on iPlayer until February 11.
