Zaha Hadid wins Jane Drew Prize

Zaha Hadid has been awarded the revived Jane Drew Prize for her contribution to the status of women in architecture, the Architects’ Journal website reports today. Hadid will be presented with the award at the AJ Women in Architecture luncheon on April 20 where winners of the Woman Architect of the Year and Emerging Woman Architect of the Year will also be announced (see the shortlist here). Writing for the AJ, Richard Waite said: “More than 300 out of nearly 650 women polled in the AJ Women in Architecture survey named Hadid as having made the greatest contribution to the status of women in architecture.   Jane Drew will be turning in her grave. Hadid is the opposite of everything Jane Drew stood for.

  Is this really what Jane drew wanted ? She previously denied it but Zaha Hadid never appreciated her. Her EDL’ Elegant Designer Label will get a boost.

  My daughter just mentioned about Madame Zaha Hadid a few days ago- she just admirer her creative idea on architecture design in our modern decade. For me it much more than that when Madame Zaha Hadid being accepted to the man domination world. Being accepted in the man domination world must be a challenging  
  to her but it make we must have a new methodology to become a module in the early education syllabus for environment and human activity. The policy of environment is on who’s hand when we do understand not many people support the new development of creating high building surround them – when the new ecology of  the management system still neglect the  rights of people concern about their experience to face the disaster impact from the power of legal law in their country. Does Madame Zaha Hadid transfer the new energy on reality when the differences location with the differences weather produce different product and different needed to make the creativity become reality? 

  And lastly Madame Zaha Hadid  works inspired the harmony of justice and really will make the peace movement in the new perspective and new direction to man domination world – must future technology make us be a mate or a comparative on each others when we do not stay in one location or one continent and much more than that we still face the unconcern currency to the project.

  Could you be more explicit? In what way are they opposites? I never knew Jane Drew, but I can imagine she might have been excited by Hadid’s ideas. I doubt very much that her mind was closed to everything that followed modernism.
