“Best just to shake your head,” part II

John Rentoul

uk elections1 Best just to shake your head, part IINo sooner has Matthew Parris retired from the Blair-baiting business than his place is taken, rather closer to home, by my good colleague Owen Jones.

Fortunately, while Parris’s satirical purpose was often buried deep under his self-deprecating exterior, Jones’s humour is easier for the reader to grasp.

His skit this morning includes a line about the four million Labour votes lost under Tony Blair’s leadership.

Inspired.

“His defenders argue that Labour could not have won without him. It is a myth.”

This statement appears to be dependant on warped hindsight. Anyway, John, I think you could avoid some of the vitriol in the comments if you explain yourself a little more: could you elaborate on the 4 million votes lost under Blair?

How strange … the supposedly “independent” Indy (LOL) – or Rentoul – has deleted my comment twice.

Is this a sign that they or he can’t handle the truth, perchance?

Here’s the gist again: what insensitivity these lying creeps show in launching “The Burden of Power” ( nothing like the burden of putting up with the smarmy chancers IN power) in Mile End of all places, which will always be remembered as the location where ordinary working class people stood up against arrogant non-elected and demented stooges (not unlike Campbell – he with the twisted-grin - and their main man Rentoul, in fact).

I have one minute ago posted something for the third time (see below, hopefully) but it has always been deleted. Isn’t our independent press wonderful?
