iBet: Back Germany to win Euro 2012 in style
Euro 2012, Group B
Back Germany to win the tournament at 3-1 (general)
Lay Portugal to qualify at 2.8 with Betfair
Back Germany to be the highest scoring team at 3-1 with Coral
Although Group B is easily the most compelling, you have to ask questions of a system that can place four of the world’s top ten ranked teams in the same group. I have already written about Germany being my fancy for tournament honours. They have arguably the best balanced team in world football and qualified with a perfect record. Although it will be no pushover even to get through this horror group, they usually find a way, and they are full of goals. Eleven of their last 13 competitive games saw at least three goals and more than half of their qualification games featured at least four. Holland are also great going forward and have a real chance of tournament glory as well, although you always worry that they might self destruct.
Denmark are talented and finished above Portugal in qualifying, but have been really unlucky with the draw. Portugal have one of the best players on the planet in Christiano Ronaldo, but recent form suggests they are vulnerable and may be a lay to qualify at 2.8 with Betfair.
Advices
I fancy Germany to go far and I fancy their games to be entertaining, so as well as backing them as 3-1 to be the highest scorers in the tournament, I’ve seen worse longshots than the 18-1 available with Paddy Power about them conceding the most at 18-1. They could feasibly play six games, score and concede in all of them, win both markets and lift the cup. They are only 10-1 in this market with Skybet.
Already Advised
Germany’ s Mario Gomez to be top tournament goalscorer at 8-1.
