iBet: David Haye should be too good for Dereck Chisora

Gareth Purnell

Dereck Chisora v David Haye

Lay Chisora at 3.2 to 1 with Betfair

Back the fight to last more than 6.5 rounds at 1/2

Back Haye to win in Round 9 (28-1) and Round 10 (33-1)

These guys genuinely seem not to like each other and their shenanigans in Munich in February have certainly created a match up that the public wants to see. Haye is the classier fighter and goes off the odds on favourite with Chisora available at 3-1 and although this does have the potential to ‘kick off’, these are both experienced professionals with good chins and it should be noted that although Chisora has lost three of his last four fights after a 14-0 winning start to his career, he has never been knocked out. Indeed he went 12 rounds with Vitali Klitschko in his last fight. Having said that, when he’s stepped up in class he’s been found wanting, and if Haye is anything like properly prepared for this he should be too good. Haye’s career record was 25 wins and one defeat until he was outclassed by Vitali’s brother Wladimir last July, in which he also went the full 12 rounds. With Haye having not fought for a year, he’s likely to use his mobility in the early rounds rather than get into a brawl. He should be too fast for Chisora and I can see him getting ahead on points and Chisora ‘walking into one’ in the second half of the fight.

Advices

If disagree with me and you think the fight will be explosive from the off, Ladbrokes offer 7/2 that it will be over in the first four rounds. It’s 50-1 with the same firm Haye winning inside a minute, and 150-1 Chisora knocks Haye out in the first 60 seconds.
