iBet: Wembley can expect goals when Brazil play Mexico in Olympic final

Olympic Men’s Football Final, Saturday 3pm

Brazil have so far fully justified their favourites’ tag in the men’s football tournament – playing the most entertaining football of any team and scoring more than anyone else in the process. If you availed yourself of the 6/4 on offer for them to take gold at the start of the tournament you are sitting pretty – they are now a best priced one to four on to lift the trophy and around 4/7 to beat Mexico on Saturday inside 90 minutes. The value however, might be to bank on there being goals. Brazil have scored no less than 15 in their five games, and they have tended to score early too. Amazingly they have never won Olympic gold, but it’s become something of a national obsession back home and they have sent a team full of players of Premier League quality. Brazil play open, attacking football and have also conceded five times against lesser opposition than surprise finalists Mexico, who have grown into the tournament and are more than capable of scoring. I’m happy to take on just over 3-1 that there will be at least two goals in the 90 minutes.

Advices

Brazil’s Neymar is 9/2 to score the first goal with several firms, while team-mate Damiao is a best priced 5/1 with William Hill to notch first. Paddy Power is offering 7/4 that there will be a penalty in the 90 minutes.
