Top of the posts: Extreme porn, Mensch’s best bits and the GB flame
This week has seen controversial conservative MP Louise Mensch announce her resignation. With mixed reception to the news, Nat Guest takes a look back at her best bits. “When it comes to politicians, of course, the surest way to attract the ire of Twitter is simply to be on Twitter. And attract ire she did -with panache and aplomb.”
It was only published this morning, but already Laurence Clark’s piece on his feelings towards the Prime Minister is the third most viewed. As many agree that the government seems to be taking steps backwards when it comes to inclusion, Clark comments: “Had Dave said he wanted to reverse the bias towards the inclusion of another social group, such as Black and Minority Ethnic kids, there would have rightly been widespread accusations of discrimination.”
As Team GB have astounded viewers with their success (25 golds, 15 silvers and 14 bronze at latest count) Mark Donne describes how the athletes are supported not only for their level of training and skill, but for their positive and inspiring attitudes. Tom Hill also comments how it is that same dedication which will help athletes go on to inspire a future generation.
Elsewhere, Simon Walsh, former aide to Boris Johnson, was this week cleared of charges of having ‘extreme’ images in a case that demonstrates how details of a personal sex life can be made public by the state (but only if you take pictures), Catriona Knox makes the case for funny women, Anne Begg MP engages in the discussion of how disabled people are represented as fraudsters, Eva Charalambous describes her experiences of harassment, Varun Mathure offers his own improvements for The Dark Knight Rises, and Emily Jupp offers some surefire ways to spice up your love life.
