iBet: Expect goals in the Super Cup

Uefa Super Cup

Chelsea v Atletico Madrid, tonight, kick off 7.45pm

Lay under 1.5 goals at 2.8 to one with Betfair

Back a penalty in the match at 100/30 with William Hill

The winner of the Super Cup has alternated between the Europa Cup winner and the Champions League winner for the last nine seasons. Barcelona beat Porto last year so if trends are continued, it will be the Spanish lifting the cup. Oddschecker has Chelsea a best priced 11/8 to win in 90 minutes with BetVictor and Betfair. The Londoners were lucky to list the Champions League trophy last year in my opinion, but they found a way to win against superior opposition. They have used the victory to strengthen their squad with some young and talented players that they may never had got without Champions League football this year. In the league, Chelsea have started the season in fantastic form. But Atletico Madrid (12/5 with Stan James) are no mugs and in fact have not lost in their last 11 games, a run stretching back to April, when they lost to Real Madrid. Like Chelsea they are also scoring plenty with five goals in their two La Liga fixtures so far this season. Last year I would have been tempted to go unders on the goals here. But Chelsea are playing with renewed confidence and should play with freedom, so the value may be to bet on there being at least two goals. Eden Hazard won more penalties than anyone else in Europe last season and has already won two for Chelsea, so William Hill’s 100/30 about a penalty in the match looks value.

Advices

The last two Super Cup finals have finished 2-0. If you fancy a repeat you can get 12-1 with BetVictor about Chelsea and 16-1 with Ladbrokes, Coral and William Hill about Madrid winning by that scoreline. Fernando Torres is best priced 6/1 with Coral to score the first goal.
