iBet: Reading beware, Arsenal are taking the Capital One Cup seriously
Capital One Cup, Reading v Arsenal, kick off 7.45pm, Sky Sports 2
Back Arsenal at 10/11 (Blue Square)
Lay under 1.5 goals at 3.6 to one with Betfair
Arsenal have been finding goals hard to come by of late but they may find Reading more accommodating tonight. The Gunners have only scored once in their last 270 minutes of football, but their games in this competition almost always produce goals and there were seven in their demolition of Southampton in the last round. Arsene Wenger seems to have changed his policy of blooding young players in this competition judging by that game – Podolski, Gervinho and Walcott all scored in the 6-1 win, in an 11 that also included Mertesacker, Vermalen, Jenkinson, Gibbs, Arteta, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Cazorla – in other words he played a full strength team. Reading have yet to keep a clean sheet this season and their five home games have produced 21 goals.
Advices
Those seeking an upset might look at Aston Villa’s game against Swindon. Villa (6/5) are looking Championship material and will not fancy a visit to Di Canio’s outfit (13/5), who brought Stevenage’s long unbeaten home run to an end at the weekend in emphatic style, winning 4-0. Villa can be laid at 1.3 to one on Betfair.
