Movember: Fun days out for you and your moustache
Whether you greet the month now universally known as ‘Movember’ with a sigh at all the hipsters sporting gregarious face ferrets, or whether the prospect of being able to curate your very own little furry caterpillar on your upper lip fills you with joy, there are several events taking place this month, ostensibly for the moustache-endowed, but actually a lot of fun regardless of whether you’re into facial fuzz or not. Plus a lot of them donate money to the cause behind the Mo – supporting testicular and prostate cancer initiatives. Get in!
Whiteleys ‘Tashatorium’: a pop-up Gentleman’s Lounge: London’s only ‘immersive theatre event for chaps’
Discerning men (and women with a fake ‘tache) are invited to this weird, Sweeney Todd style pop-up, where your whiskers will be groomed to perfection – if you escape unscathed. A series of bizarre characters will set you some strange tasks – if you succeed you’ll win goody bags choc-full of discounts and goodies from Whiteley’s many stores.

Fifty pence from each of Byron’s special Movember burgers, served with cheese, pickled red onion rings and mustard dill dressing, of the aptly named the “Mighty Mo”, will go to prostate cancer charities. Also if you have registered with Movember and raised £25 or more, you get a free burger at their restaurants.

“The best a Mo can Get” Barber shop
In association with Movember, Gillette have opened a 1940s-themed barber shop on Carnaby Street, London for “Mo bros to touch up their mos”. Ideal for girlfriends who are getting sick of their partner’s wild moustaches and can watch the barbers snip away while sipping at one of the retro cocktails. Tonight they open late, turning the shop into a bar with “Movemeber DJs” to coincide with the Carnaby Street Christmas lights switch on.

The appropriately-named “Fuzzy Ink” company have created a selection of moustache-shaped cookie-cutters so you can bake biscuits in the shape of your favourite type of facial hair! And thanks to the ‘Movember committee’, you can now host your own Movember party. Invite all your moustache-wearing pals for Mo-themed cocktails, including “Mo-jitos” and “flaming Mos”. Mmm, fuzzy.
Movember at Goals
If you want to show off your mo on the pitch, look no further than Goals Soccer Centres, which is hosting the first ever Movember championships. You can bring a bunch of hairy-lipped friends to any one of their 43 centres across the country, and if you play a game in November, winners of each regional competition will be entered into the prize draw to be flown to Copenhagen and represent Goals and the UK against the winners of the Danish Movember champions. You can also compare ‘tache sizes.
