iBet: Tough challenge ahead for Hartlepool manager John Hughes
Hartlepool vs Coventry, League One, kick-off 3pm
Lay Hartlepool at 2.2 to one with Betfair
Coventry had a miserable September until they turned in a 1-0 away win in their last game of the month, and it signalled a change in form. They played seven games in October, winning three, drawing two and narrowly losing twice, and opened up this month with comprehensive wins first in the FA Cup and then at 3-1 home to high flying Crawley, before losing 2-1 at home to Scunthorpe last time out in a tight match in which they took the lead and had 13 shots on target.
Coventry have already won at Oldham and Leyton Orient in this division this season and they have an excellent chance of their third road victory against Hartlepool, who have a new manager in John Hughes who has a mighty task ahead of him.
Hartlepool have won only one of their 17 games and their goal difference of minus 16 is far worse than any other team in the division. It won’t help that he’s without striker Steve Howard for his first game in charge. If you prefer to back Coventry, Betfair have the best win price available at 6/4.
Advices
Reading are still waiting for their first home win but it’s unlikely to come against Everton, who are fourth in the Premier League on merit. The 5/6 available about Everton winning could be decent value.
