A Guardian euphemism
These are grim days for newspapers. The Guardian, which used to be able to guarantee its writers jobs for life, is looking to shed 68 more staff, which may involve compulsory redundancies. But somebody seems to have retained a sense of humour as they devised a job title for Sheila Fitzsimons, who will be doing the sacking – Executive Editor of Transformation.
