Copa Del Rey first leg

Atletico Madrid v Betis, kick off 9pm

Which team has scored the most goals at home in La Liga this season – Barcelona or Real Madrid? Well the answer is Atletico Madrid, who are actually ahead of their city rivals in the league and host another over-performing team in fourth-placed Betis tonight in the Copa Del Rey. Atletico, with 18 goal Radamel Falcao leading the line, have been ruthless in racking up 30 league goals at the Estadio Vincente Calderon and are also likely to play at full strength. Atletico (2/5 to win this) are incredibly strong at home where they have won all ten games and have a superb goal difference of plus 24. In their last five home games Diego Simeone’s men have scored 15 goals, and not conceded. Meanwhile Betis’s last five away games have produced 20 goals. Usually I look to go low on goals in first legs of cup ties – the away side is unlikely to chase the game even if they are a goal down. But on this occasion it may pay to expect a few.

Indian captain MS Dhoni has been in excellent nick in recent one day internationals. He looks value at 11/2 with Ladbrokes to be the top Indian batsman in Saturday’s third match-up, for which India are now 4/6 favourites with England out to 13/10 following their mauling in Kochi.
