Jacob Rees-Mogg comes over all Hamlet
That brilliant Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg was objecting yesterday to the procedure that limited the time MPs were going to spend arguing over whether an heir to the throne can marry a Roman Catholic. He wanted therefore to amend paragraph 1(3) and delete paragraph 2(b) from the government’s procedural motion. He decided not to push it to a vote when he saw that he was on to a loser. “I apologise, Mr Deputy Speaker,” he added, “because had we come to my second amendment, you would have been able to put the question 2(b) or not 2(b)….”
Love it!
