iBet: Rolling Star for the Triumph Hurdle
Triumph Hurdle, Cheltenham, March 15th
Back Rolling Star each way at 6/1
Nicky Henderson’s Rolling Star lived up to a lofty reputation on Saturday in winning the Grade 2 JCB Triumph Hurdle trial at Cheltenham at odds of 5/2. My understanding is that he was strongly fancied and had been working like a Grade 1 horse at home. Odds-on favourite Irish Saint cut-out the running but Rolling Star jockey Barry Geraghty looked very confident throughout and picked off Paul Nicholls’ mount on the run in. The pair finished well clear, the form looks very sound and we know he is being aimed at the Triumph Hurdle. Rolling Star will be sharper still come Cheltenham and although he’s been backed into 6/1 favourite, that still looks too big a price to leave alone. I’ve heard that the stable are on at 20-1.
Advices
Seven of the top eight in the Premier League are in action tonight with the Arsenal V Liverpool clash (live on Sky Sports 1) looking especially tasty. The Emirates has witnessed more goals than any other top flight ground this season – 46 for an average of more than four goals a game. It’s 7/4 that the game will produce at least four, 4/6 that there will be at least three.
