But Prestbury only ranks eighth in a new table of Premier League property hotspots.

Oxshott in Surrey, home to ex-England captain John Terry and Jamie and Louise Redknapp, heads the list put together by property website Zoopla.co.uk which shows that average property prices there are £1,456,865. Hampstead in north London is in second place at £1,068,955, an area which is a favourite among Arsenal players including Andrei Arshavin.

Esher in Surrey is also popular – residents include Chelsea and England star Frank Lampard and wife Christine Bleakley, Ashley Cole and Gary and Danielle Lineker. The average property prices here are £756,016.

In terms of price rise, Cobham in Surrey – home to Chelsea FC’s training ground – comes out on top. Average house prices in the area have risen 6.3% since February 2012. In second place is Hale in Cheshire, home to Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic, where average property values have gone up by 5.90% over the last year.

Former residents include Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham.

Elsewhere, David and Victoria Beckham, are now property-hunting in London as they relocate from Los Angeles. Currently renting a £20,000,000 house in south London, they are rumoured to be considering buying in either Notting Hill (average property value £1,284,353) or Primrose Hill (£920,789).

People are always saying that Cheshire money is football money, notable that the same is rarely said about Surrey. Also Interesting is that Cheshire is almost twice as rich as Surrey (according to Wealthinsight published in the Guardian last month). Stick that in your pipe and smoke it Kelvin Mackenzie.
