iBet: Goals at the Bernabeu as Mourinho’s men go for the jugular

Gareth Purnell

Champions League

Real Madrid V Galatasaray, kick off 7.45pm, live Sky Sports 2

Back over 3.5 goals at 10/11

Only one team scored more than the 15 goals Real Madrid racked up in the Champions’ League Group stages, and that was Chelsea, who didn’t qualify. Their home games in Group D produced five, four and five goals and although they did draw 1-1 at the Bernabeu with Manchester United in the first knock out phase, Madrid’s home league games this season have seen an average of over four goals per game. I can see more tonight as they will want to get the job done at home against a dangerous Galatasaray side with some classy performers in their ranks including Didier Drogba, Wesley Sniejder and Emmanuel Eboue, while striker Burak Yilmaz has eight European goals already this campaign. They proved their quality with an odds-against 2-3 win in Schalke in the last round and will be looking to score at least once themselves.

Advices
Those who fancy Paulo Di Canio to fail to turn things around at Sunderland might like the look of the 15/8 about the Black Cats to be relegated from the Premier League. They have lost key players Steve Fletcher and Lee Cattermole for the rest of the season, have a pretty tough looking run in, and Wigan and Aston Villa both seem to be displaying more quality, bottle and spirit at the moment.
