Ssh, tell no one: Tony Blair has written for The Staggers

Andy McSmith

On the front cover of today’s bumper centenary edition of the New Statesman there is a long list of the great and famous whose contributions can be found inside, such as Douglas Hurd, David Miliband, Tom Watson, Jon Cruddas, Mehdi Hasan, Laurie Penny and many more. What the cover does not reveal is that tucked away inside, on page 27, there is an essay by Tony Blair. Why would they want to keep it quiet?

Ashamed that they let the pseudo-Tory write for them probably.

If you think Laurie Penny is either great or famous it is time you laid down in a dark room

  • trottitout

She’s great and her writing has improved markedly since she moved to the NS full time.

Well yes, this was a rhetorical question. lol!!!

Yeah except Bliar-ian rhetoric swears black is white and Conman-servativism is Socialiasm. But some people are too blinkered to realise it so it needs to be made explicit despite the (possible) original intent with a rhetorical question.

She is an idiot – did not turn up for Socialist meeting in Northern Ireland as “she had gone to America”

Missed a socialist meeting? Missed? I’d like some more of that myself!

  • creggancowboy

It was dull – all talk and no action – typical!

  • PurbeckPashmina

The meeting I began to attend was an entertainment for those who like to protest to no effect and those who presumably enjoy their discomfiture. I’d learn more about the EU from 2 minutes on the DT blogs.
