iBet: Swansea may already be on the beach
Swansea v Manchester City, kick off 3pm
Back Manchester City at 1.8 with Betfair
I tend to make most of my money in the middle part of the season as this time of year can be very unpredictable when it comes to betting on the outcomes of football matches. It’s a weekend when I’m finding it hard to take a firm stance on any of the Premier League games – however there are reasons for believing that Manchester City are a fair price. Since winning the cup Swansea have well and truly taken their foot off the gas. Laudrup’s men may be ninth in the table, but only Reading are below them in the eight-match form guide and they have only one win (against woefully out of form Newcastle) in that run. They have lost four of their last six including two at home and have nothing but pride to play for. That may also be true of Mancini’s men but he has the better players and over 90 minutes that should tell.
Barcelona have gone off favourites for the Champions League every year since 2008, but the mantel has now passed to Bayern Munich who are 7/2 jollies for next season’s competition. It’s 7/1 with William Hill that both Gotze and Lewandowski score in the forthcoming all German final.
