iBet: Chelsea and Benfica to continue scoring runs

Gareth Purnell

Europa Cup Final, kick off 7.45pm, ITV1

Back both teams to score at 4/5
Back Juan Mata to be man of the match at 7/1

Chelsea probably have the better players, but they had a super-tough Premier League fixture against Aston Villa on Saturday and given that this is their 67th fixture of a draining season that might just balance things out here. It’s interesting to note that Chelsea have drawn eight games in all competitions since the start of the year, and my friends at Oddschecker.com (who have flagged up 374 market on the match) confirm that six of those have been 2-2 – a scoreline that you can back at 16-1. It could be a runner as it’s a game where goals look likely. Chelsea (4/6 to lift the trophy) always seem to score (they have done in all but one of their European games this season), but they have only kept two clean sheets in 14 Euro fixtures. Benfica (5/4) are certainly a fine side. They are brilliant at home but do look slightly more vulnerable on their travels. Like Chelsea, they seem almost certain to find the net, as they have done in 26 of their last 27 games since December 2012.

Advices
If you fancy the game to go all the way it’s 11/1 with Betfair Sportsbook on either team winning the trophy on penalties. Chelsea’s Juan Mata is 7/1 favourite to be man of the match and that might be worth a small wager.
