iBet: Kiyoshi’s form looks rock solid

Gareth Purnell

Moyglare Stud Stakes, The Curragh, Sunday

Back Kiyoshi at 13/8

Form book lovers will be salivating about the credentials of Kiyoshi fir this, as the 5/1 the favourite for next year’s 1,000 Guineas puts her reputation on the line in Ireland on Sunday. Charles Hills’ filly won her maiden at Goodwood in fine style, beating Ihtimal, who them went on to win the Sweet Solera Stakes. And her 3.5 length success in the super competitive Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot was sublime.

As well as accounting for a subsequent dual Group Two winner in Lucky Kristale and two subsequent Group Three winners in Princess Noor and Wonderfully, she also beat the much vaunted and well fancied Sandiva in some style that day in possibly the hottest juvenile race seen this season. Sandiva has recently franked the formbook impressively at Deauville. She faces some interesting rivals, including newcomer Prudent Approach (14/1), a sister to 2,000 Guineas winner Dawn Approach and unbeaten Tapestry (3/1), who Aidan O’Brien has supplemented. But on form 13/8 about Kiyoshi looks a price to be getting involved at.

Advices

The Europa Cup ties look tricky tonight but it could be worth laying 13 corners and over with Betfair in the Petrolul v Swansea fixture (kick off 6.30pm). The tie is as good as over following Swansea’s 5-1 win in the first leg and Laudrup has been playing a formation that has produced few corners so far this season.
