iBet: Classy Dortmund Could Be Worth Opposing In Napoli
Napoli v Dortmund, kick off 7.45pm

In a meeting between two teams who have lost some of their star quality over the summer, it may pay to side with the home team here. Manager Jurgen Klopp managed to rebuild successfully after the loss of Shinji Kagawa and Nuri Sahan and it will be interesting to see how he will cope with the loss of attacking playmaker Mario Gotze, who became the most expensive German footballer ever when he was sold to rivals Bayern Munich in July.
Dortmund played beautifully to reach the final of this competition last year, and as such of course are very, very dangerous. But their record away from home in the Champions League is a little bit shakey – they have been victorious in only one of their last 10 away matches in the competition.
Napoli too have lost their star forward in Edinson Cavani to Paris for a sum believed to be in the region of 64 million Euros. However, they have been quick to at least attempt to replace the prolific Uruguayan striker by signing Gonzalo Higuain and also Jose Callejon from Real Madrid. And they seem to be clicking straight away – both scored in the 2-0 win against Atalanta at the weekend. The win sent them top of Serie A with a perfect nine points from three games.
Dortmund could of course win – they are in good form domestically and certainly have the class and the players to cause Napoli a lot of problems. However, with the draw a winner for us and given their away record in the competition, I think the value is to lay the Germans, who possibly should not have been made favourites for this game.
