Live in a lighthouse keeper’s cottage
Get away from it all in this four-bedroom former lighthouse keeper’s cottage (below) at Strongarbh, Tobermory, on the Isle of Mull which has tremendous views but is easily within walking distance to town. The cottages – now merged into one – were originally built in 1857. There’s no mains electricity and water comes from a private spring. The house and garden – which includes what the agents describe as “an extremely productive vegetable patch” are encircled by a stone wall. The cottage comes with 80 acres of land but not the lighthouse.
