iBet: Palace At The Bottom Of The Class When It Comes To Corners
Crystal Palace V Stoke, kick off 8pm, Sky Sports 1
Back the draw at 9/4
Back Fulham to win the most corners at 15/8
Lay over 3.5 goals at 3.9
Crystal Palace (7/4) have failed to win the corners match bet in any of their seven games in the Premier League so far. In fact they have been thumped on the corner kick front in most games and the only fixture they did not have fewer flag kicks than their opposition in was in their only win of the season – 3-1 against rock bottom Sunderland, when each team had six corners. They even managed to lose the corners match bet 11-3 when they were beaten 2-1 by Bristol City in the League Cup.
Overall, out of eight competitive games played since promotion to the top flight, they have won one game, conceded 67 corners and won 24 corners. Against Stoke, hardly the most expansive team in the Premier League, they lost the corner count 7-0. Fulham (19/10) are hardly flying either although the 1-0 win against Stoke last time out was a welcome respite for Martin Jol. It has to be said that although Palace’s corners record points to going against them on the corners match bet, Fulham’s is hardly inspiring – 43 corners for and 72 against.
However, it’s better than Palace’s and after losing the match bet in their first five games they have managed to win their last two – against Stoke and Cardiff. Both teams are struggling for goals with only five apiece in their seven fixtures and a tight game could be on the cards. The draw (9/4) is as big runner here and the best price you will get about under 2.5 goals is 8/11, and that could be bet material. Alternatively consider laying over 3.5 goals at 3.9 with Betfair. Fulham’s games average two goals so far this season.
Spurs are now 6/5 to finish in the top four in the Premier League following an efficient win against Aston Villa on Sunday. Manchester United are out to 10/1 with Bwin to retain the title following their home draw with Southampton – a longer price than Liverpool who are 9/1 with Boylesports.
