iBet: Form Points To A Routine Away Win For Paris
Anderlecht V Paris SG, kick off 7.45pm
Back Paris at 4/9 (Ladbrokes)
We had a nice touch at 7/5 last night with Napoli seeing see off Marseille readily, but even though it’s a much shorter price I’m prepared to accept that 4/9 is fair value for Paris to beat Anderlecht tonight. The Belgian side look out of their depth at this level – their 3-0 home defeat to Olympiakos on Match Day 2 is evidence enough of that – and Paris are far superior to the Greeks. Paris made the quarter finals of the Champions League last year and have a stronger squad and first team this time around, in particular with the capture of Cavani. They are live outsiders for the competition at a best price of 16/1 with Bet365, are strong away from home domestically (four wins and a draw from five) and are full of confidence following five straight wins. Those wins include a 3-0 defeat of Benfica. Benfica beat Anderlecht 2-0 in their first group game, and their only Group C away day so far saw Paris win 4-1 in Athens. It all points to a routine away victory and you can make an strong argument for backing Paris at 5/4 on the handicap giving up a one goal start (Boylesports). However, 4/9 is a price I am prepared to take about the win.
Sir Alex Ferguson has been priced up at 10/1 by William Hill to manage the Scottish national team before the 2020 European Championships following the release of his book. He’s 16/1 to manage again in the Premier League before the end of the 2020 season.
