Doctor Who – ‘The Time of the Doctor’ trailer
Following on from the short trail at the end of The Day of the Doctor back in November, we have finally been given a longer trailer of the Doctor Who Christmas special and it’s all getting pretty tense. There are Weeping Angels, Daleks and Cybermen and lots of explosions (naturally).
This is Matt Smith’s last adventure as the Doctor and from this trailer he will be given a fitting send off. According to what we know so far, the Doctor and Clara will be venturing to the quiet planet of Trenzalore where the eleventh incarnation will fall. Just why anyone would want to go to the place where they are destined to die is beyond me. However, it is now time for this version of the Doctor to leave and a new chapter in the show’s history will begin with Peter Capaldi’s twelfth Time Lord.
In the 35 second clip Clara is heard reciting a poem of sorts: “And now it’s time for one last bow, like all your other selves, eleven’s hour’s over now, the clock is striking 12″.
There is a woman saying that ‘the siege of Trenzalore is now begun’ and the Doctor has been ensnared in a trap. It is all too late, we know what is coming as a Dalek says: “The Doctor is regenerating!” While Clara is begging someone to help the Doctor to change the future. The anticipation is only intensifying.
