Free ers Ibet: Big guns Manchester City and Chelsea to show their firepowerBack Chelsea (8/15) and Manchester City (4/7) in a double with BetVictor (pays just better than 11/8)

Manchester City are not on a good run on the face of it. They’ve lost two in a row and were pretty awful for 65 minutes when getting dumped out of the FA Cup by Wigan. But although they lost to Barcelona in midweek, they played very well indeed in my opinion. In fact they only lost the game really because they were reduced to ten men, a decision caused directly by the referee not giving a blatant penalty. Even then they equalised, only losing very late on when the extra man told down the right flank. They now have to focus on the Premier League, and they know exactly what they need to do. Mourinho is playing his mind games as well as ever but the task for Pellegrini’s men is clear. Win their three games in hand over Chelsea, and they will be top of the league. Hull have caused a few upsets this season but they are fourth bottom of the eight-match form table. I think City will get the win and I think the 4/7 offered by BetVictor is a fair price. The game is live on BT Sport. And to get odds against, I will be pairing them up with league leaders Chelsea in the other televised game at 5.30pm. Aston Villa actually normally give Chelsea a good game and indeed they were unlucky not to come away with a draw from Stamford Bridge earlier in the season, the referee missing an obvious hand ball in the area by John Terry late on. However, while Villa have gone backwards since the early part of the season, Chelsea seem to be getting stronger and stronger. Villa badly needed their win last week. It was an odd game that I went to. Villa were outplayed early on but Benteke changed the game with a stunning equaliser and Norwich then made the mistake of opening the game up and got picked off. There’s no doubting Villa are dangerous on the break, but that’s about their only weapon and Mourinho will know all about that. I think Chelsea will have too much for Villa, who almost never win two Premier League games in a row, and again I think 8/15 is a fair price. The game is live on Sky Sports 1.

We successfully laid Big Buck’s on age grounds in the World Hurdle at Cheltenham, and also flagged up the chances of the winner More of That. It was also good news for the Emergency Jockey Fund, as jockey Barry Geraghty had been given a 100 Euro each way Festival charity bet with Boylesports, and had put up More of That at 9/1 with Champion Hurdle winner Jezki, also 9/1. The double paid out ten thousand Euros!
