Josh Barrie is a freelance journalist who likes writing about lifestyle, travel and society, sometimes allowing himself the occasional outburst of political commentary. After qualifying with the NCTJ at the start of this year, he worked as an intern reporter at the Oxford Mail, but now finds himself doing blogs, photos and social media updates for the Oxford Royale Academy. In October, he is planning a long trip to the further points of Asia. There, he hopes to find himself. And write a book. Obviously.

Increasing alcohol prices will only make “pre-loading” more appealing

I’m imagine David Cameron would have had more than five pints of lager on a night out with his Bullingdon Club friends while at university. Drinking more than five pints, by the way, is deemed ‘binge drinking.’

Otters Who Look Like Benedict Cumberbatch, and other trends on Twitter

It scares me to think that only a decade ago, we wouldn’t be aware of the fact that Benedict Cumberbatch looks like an otter, or, perhaps, otters bear surprising resemblance to the Sherlock star.

Let’s wake up before we have to sit through *insert cause*2013

The internet is awash with claims that the Kony2012 campaign is both brilliant and sheer misguided ignorance.
