Parker Liautaud

Parker Liautaud is a 17-year-old polar adventurer and environmental campaigner. In April he embarked on his third mission to the North Pole, with two polar expeditions under his belt to date. Through his interest in the world's changing environment and threatened ecosystems, he found the spirit of adventure, first taking up comparatively minor challenges in the Rockies and the Atlas Mountains at 12 and 13 years old. In late 2009, Parker launched The Last Degree - an organisation dedicated to bringing young people into the global political dialogue on climate change and contributing to progress in scientific understanding of the issue. Parker is an ambassador for the international youth summit One Young World, which is taking place this October in Pittsburgh, USA.
