The Undateables: Not so much unwatchable, but still slightly unedifying
It sounds like a modern day adaptation of a love story between ‘the untouchables’ of the Indian caste system. But, as you have probably heard, it’s the latest in line of Channel 4 documentaries that are trying to challenge social prejudices. This one follows nine people with disabilities and disfigurements on their search for love. The hope is that the public watch the programme with empathy rather than with tantalising gasps on their faces, and that they gain a better understanding of what it’s like being disabled and trying to find love.

If you saw someone with a facial disfigurement walking down the street, would you A) Laugh at them B) Point at them C) Call them names or D) Carry on walking? If your answer is D then you shouldn’t have found Jeremy Clarkson’s latest comments the least bit funny.
