Stephen Miller

Stephen has been competing in international athletics for over 15 years, taking part in four Paralympic Games and winning five medals including three golds, a silver and a bronze. His main event is the Club Throw, which is the equivalent to the Javelin for Stephen's disability class. Stephen held the world record from 1997-2008. In between training Stephen dabbles in a bit of web development and does a fair bit of public speaking and appearances. Stephen is also the author of 'Paralympian', which you can check out here. He is currently preparing for the London 2012 Games.

I had to go inside to warm up as after 10 minutes outside I couldn’t feel my hands and I was shaking. I reckon it’s the first time I have seriously considered pulling out of a competition due to the weather.

Well, I’m about 4 weeks into winter training and I’m still alive and well. To be honest I’m better than alive, I’m happier than a pig rolling around in the proverbial.

It’s a bit surreal to think I’ve started preparing for the competition that has been in the back of my mind for six-years, the competition that convinced me to keep going in 2009 and not have a hip replacement – It’s here and it starts now for me.
