Alasdair Fotheringham is a freelance journalist based in Spain. He has been working with the
Independent as a cycling correspondent since 2001. He also works for www.cyclingweekly.co.uk.  He has covered the Tour de France 17 times, but this is the first time he will be reporting from the  Olympic Games.
