After making the fastest-selling video game ever for its owner Microsoft, games developer Bungie Studios is going independent in a bid to make something other than another Halo title. Rumours have been swirling all week about the split and Microsoft has just confirmed that its seven-year relationship with Bungie has ‘evolved’ – great phrase. Microsoft will still be working on future Halo spin-offs while Bungie will continue to develop games for Microsoft’s platforms. Looks to me like Bungie is bowing out on a high note after the success of Halo 3 (pictured).
