Rhodri, I think part of the reason the kill or be killed sites do so well is that they have a very obvious purpose. If you log into Second Life, it's not obvious straight away what you can do. I guess the answer is you can do anything you want, but when you've wandered round enough empty builds and are going out of your mind with the tedium, then you might not see it that way.

So you end up in a bar...

Part of the challenge for everyone in SL is to find some purpose, even if that purpose is just getting to know new people.
