1. In this week's ES magazine from the London Evening Standard, film director Lord Attenborough is put through the gruelling (what advice would you give to a tourist?) "My London" Q&A.
To the question "What are your extravagances?" he answers "Burgundy. I like fine wines. If I had to pick one out, then it would have to be Gruard Larose." Note to Lord Attenborough: that's a Bordeaux. Note to sub: it's spelt Gruaud Larose.
2. From the Quick Bites section of Harden's website dated 11 January: "For obituaries (on Parisian restaurateur Jean-Claude Vrinat, who died on Monday) see slate.com or nytimes.com - have we missed something or have the UK media just been rather slow on this one?"
You missed something, boys. My Indyblog, dated 9 January.

I don't think that the few words you wrote about M. Vrinat qualify as an obituary. If he was so important to you why was he ignored in your IoS Column today?

Never a good idea to knock the opposition like this. What goes around comes around...

Always a good idea to keep the opposition on their toes Jakers. It's the reason standards improve and people like yourself are compelled to post comments on blog sites such as this!
