Scroll through our previous posts and you'll see that there are few things we enjoy more than a semi-literate celebrity engaging in a bit of crack-pot political punditry: Chuck Norris, Sly Stallone, Alex James and Kid Rock, Will.i.am and his motley-crew of Hollywood light-weights, Evangeline Lilly. Yesterday, Madonna, who is not only sprouting her own half-baked opinions but also appears to be influencing others' (NATO member states: be warned).
The issue at stake this afternoon is the presidential endorsement of one very key man: 50 Cent - rapper, gangsta, political playa.
Back in February the artist intermitently known as Fiddy handed his all emportant endorsement to Hillary on the basis that "she would do a good job" and Obama would probably be killed. Last week, however, he changed his mind (and no doubt the millions of others') by backing Obama saying, "He hit me with that he-just-got-done- watching-'Malcolm X,' and I swear to God, I'm like, 'Yo, Obama!' I'm Obama to the end now, baby!").
But it doesn't end there! Oh no. It would seem that just for safety's sake he's attaching his approval to any possible political outcome: "To be honest" he told reporters, "I haven't been following that anymore. I lost my interest. Don't look for my vote. Just say, '50 Cent, he don't know, so don't ask Fiddy.'"
Mmmm. Normally we'd point-blank ignore anything Fifty said. On this occassion, however, we might just give him the benefit of the doubt.
