The Gutter Sniper: A new Campbell hits Downing street
Everybody duck! It looks like salvation is paying Gordon Brown a visit and we hear she's throwing cell phones.
Wait, you haven't heard? Well prepare to be blown away people: Naomi Campbell is back in town and this time she means business (or politics).
Yes indeed, the supermodel seems to have left that little "incident" with BA far behind, choosing instead to play Alastair to Gordon's Tony. Or something. Just yesterday she was spotted emerging from number 10's gleaming doors, all sunglasses and and designer denim, muttering about how "passionate" and "jolly" and "good under pressure" the PM was. Apparently they "touched on issues happening in the world right now like Burma and China."
Of course this isn't the supermodel's first foray into the murky world of politics and the press. On the contrary, she won heavywight hack status earlier this year by air-kissing her way into Hugo Chavez's home and coaxing out such journalistic gems as "The Prince's new girl is not attractive" and "Casto's boots are always polished."
Neither, in fact, is our PM all that virginal when it comes to celebrity. Not long ago he hosted talks with Columbian songstress Shakira to discuss child poverty and before that he teamed up with Gorgeous George to try and fix Darfur. Nevertheless we can't help but wonder what happens if, as tends to happen behind the closed doors of Westminster, their relationship sours. Will Ms Campbell revert to type and whack the PM with a phone? Or will she choose the more popular route of publishing a vitriolic memoir, possibly serialised in a Sunday paper?
Either way the outcome promises to be just too delicious to ignore. This is one political project we're definitely getting behind.
