Congratulations are due To Northamptonshire C.C.C. for becoming the latest county to secure Test Match venue status. This will be a prodigious occasion and although only a four day Test, a major boost for the County and the town itself. I'm sure it'll be well publicised and be a significant earner for the club. Selection rumours emanating from the S.A. camp suggest the possible inclusion of three Kolpak playes in the form of Peters, Sales and White. I'm sure this will upset the public back home, who are so keen to see locally encouraged and developed players given a fair chance to express themselves on a bigger stage (sic). But hey, they'll find jobs in finance and play at weekends instead, so that'll be fine.
Yours in sport,
I.N. Holmes
