Marvel Studios must be glad that Iron Man has so far been a resounding success ($200m worldwide and counting), as it's given them the perfect excuse to announce a raft of new superhero movies for the next couple of years.
First among them is the inevitable Iron Man 2, which already has a release date - 30 April, 2010, since you ask. They've also got a Thor film due in '10; Captain America and The Avengers in '11; plus something called Ant-Man directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz).
Since it's now in control of their own universe, the studio is able to play little in-jokes, like having Robert Downey Jnr's Tony Stark turn up in The Incredible Hulk. After the jump, the new trailers for Indy IV and The Dark Knight...
The new Indiana Jones trailer is on before Iron Man in cinemas, and the quality of the film remains terrifyingly uncertain.
The Dark Knight, on the other hand, still looks like the summer's sure thing. You might have to watch this trailer with the lights out, as it's very dark indeed.

i loved this movie, no surprises that it made over 200 million!

Iron Man is one of the best superhero movies to come out in a long time (perhaps ever, really). Great movie, and I'll anxiously be awaiting the sequel!

Last night after I saw the excellent Iron Man, where they hinted at the Avengers, I scoffed "The Avengers, what's next, Thor?!?"
I would have never imagined it, but there you go. When Stan Lee finally got his own movie studio, he imagined that it meant even his most terrible creations were genius.
Sigh.

Robert Downey Jr. delivered the best performance in a superhero movie ever. If you took the Iron Man sequences out the movie still would have been great. I want to be Tony Stark when I grow up. Nobody ever says that about Mr. Kent, Mr. Wayne, Mr. Parker, or Dr. Banner!!!

Yeah, just saw Iron Man for a second time and will likely go again. Would have liked even more action, but Downey Jr. held the movie together with an awesome performance. After all the stuff that he's done and has been through, it's great to see that he has hopefully pulled it together. I love the superhero movies, the more the merrier for me.
